The Canadian War Museum, for a number of years, stored the oversized works from
its large war art collection with works of similar size owned by the National
Gallery of Canada, at a storage site leased by the latter. Our very small
controlled atmosphere art vault was simply too small to handle these very large
works, most of which, from what I understand, require extensive conservation.
As the Gallery has recently given up its lease and moved its own large items,
we have had to relocate them to the collections storage of our affiliate, the
Canadian Museum of Civilization.

I am afraid I do not know how well the arrangement with the National Gallery
worked. I suggest you contact [log in to unmask] who could give you
more information, as our war art collection is under her curatorship.
