Dear David,

Two years ago I developed an Immigration Kit surrounding the culture of the
Germans from Russia.

For this particular kit I developed 3 sections, the first packing, what will
you take with you. I had a suitcase and a lot of objects for the students
to choose form and they had to say why they chose their item. The second
section was the trip. For this I developed local passports and the students
had to go around to the room to each town asking for permission to travel
through the town. During the early part of the 20th century to travel
though Russia I discovered one must have a passport to travel in the country
as well as through a city so it sometimes it took months because the
Russians would not let people into their town. The final section was going
through immigration at Ellis Island or any port. Here I had a doctor doing
examinations and two people asking questions.

It was a hit, and I found it worked on multiple age levels.

Good luck.
