        The purpose of this letter is to make an offer of a collection of
paintings.

        The most important is one of the first oil-paintings by Remedios Varo.
This rare piece (41.8 cm X 33.4 cm) was a gift from the artist to M.A.
Cassanyes, a Varo's friend and very well known art critic who worked with
the painter in the "Exposicisn Logicofobista". This work is not categorized
because it has never been exhibited, being one of the most precious pieces
of the Cassanyes family's collection. As you may already know, the value of
her  work has increased tremendously in the past few years ; one of her
paintings was sold for 825,000 British pounds in May of 1990.

        Apart from Remedios Varo's work, we also have a number of paintings by
different artists :

3.)     60.2 X 80.7cm oil-painting by Vicente Rincsn
4.)     50 X 61.5cm oil-painting  by Navarro Ramsn

7.)     Two 24.5 X 32cm paintings by Pietro Graziani
8.)     26 X 34.8cm watercolor by Kallinik Gousseff
9.)     19 X 24cm english painting (19th century )

A QUIEN PROCEDA :

        El propssito de esta carta es el ofrecimiento de uno de los primeros sleos
de Remedios Varo

        Esta extraqa pieza (41,8 m X 33,4 cm) fue un regalo de la pintora a M. A.
Cassanyes, crmtico de arte espaqol, amigo de la autora, que en 1936 prologs
el catalogo de la Exposicisn Logicofobista, en la que particips Remedios
Varo. Esta obra no esta catalogada, ya que nunca ha sido expuesta ni ha
salido de la coleccisn de la familia. Sin embargo, sm tenemos a nuestra
disposicisn el certificado que la autentifica. Como Vd. sabe, el valor de
la obra de Varo se ha incrementado tremendamente en los zltimos aqos; una
de sus pinturas fue vendida en Christie's en 1990 por 825.000 libras
esterlinas.

        Ademas del trabajo de Remedios Varo, tenemos una serie de pinturas de
diferentes artistas :

1.)     Sleo de Angel Planells (102 X 71,5cm).
2.)     Sleo de Urgell (31 X 50cm).
3.)     Sleo de Vicente Rincsn (60.2 X 80.7cm).
4.)     Sleo de Navarro Ramsn (50 X 61.5cm).
5.)     Dibujo y acuarela de Jaime Guardia (20.5 X 15cm).
6.)     Sleo de Jean Wijnants (27 X 25.2cm).
7.)     Dos pinturas de Pietro Graziani (24.5 X 32cm).
8.)     Acuarela de Kallinik Goussess (26 X 34.8cm).
9.)     Pintura inglesa del s. XIX (19 X 24cm)
