ARCHIVIST/LIBRARIAN
New York task force agency seeks Archivist/Librarian for 4 month project.
Will recommend and implement new system in support of ongoing information
generation, with on-site and off-site information accessibility.

Qualifications:  Library Science degree preferred or related work
experience.  Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.


BUSINESS MANAGER
Auction house seeks Business Manager to be responsible for budgets and all
financial matters for the Operations Department and serves as the Director’s
point person for personnel and financial resourcing.  Preparation of weekly
staffing plans for leased labor crews.

Qualifications:
The Business Manager should have a strong accounting background along with a
MBA.
Experience working with payroll, overtime, leased labor and maintaining the
time clock system on a daily, weekly, and monthly and quarterly basis.  

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.


PHOTO RESEARCHER/SALES ASSISTANT
Bi-coastal stock photo agency seeks an experienced photo researcher to
assist in preparation and submission of photography to clients and to handle
phone requests and liaison work. 

Qualifications:  Basic PC skills and the ability to readily master new
industry specific software are needed.

WAREHOUSE MANAGER 
Auction house seeks Warehouse Manager for uptown warehouse to be responsible
for operations of the warehouse, supervising union labor force, working with
the registrar, photography studio, specialists, facilities and security
offices, and maintaining equipment and supplies.  

Qualifications:
The Warehouse Manager should have experience with maintaining inventories,
providing safe storage of all property, proper art handling procedures,
building maintenance and repair, and security issues.  The Warehouse Manager
also should have experience working with senior staff, clients and VIP’s.
Experience working with a union labor force is essential. 

Salary: $50,000


EXHIBITION DESIGNER
Major New York City Museum seeks Exhibition Designer to work with the Chief
Designer developing exhibition concepts, preparing sketches and presentation
drawings, constructing exhibition models for review, coordinating
fabrication with model makers, and preparing final construction drawings,
floor plans, and detail drawings either for internal museum construction or
as bid documents for outside construction.  The Exhibition Designer may also
be asked to work with co-designers on projects or special exhibitions.  

Qualifications: 
Five years experience in exhibition design field required (Exhibition
Designers need only apply).  Candidate must be experienced, organized, and
professional.  Good communication skills required.  
Knowledge of materials, construction, fabrication, and project management
necessary.  Drafting, CAD and computer skills needed.  Computer applications
- Mini CAD and QuarkXpress on a MacIntosh.  Some art handling experience a plus.

Salary: $45,000.


INTERACTIVE MUSIC MUSEUM  -  Seven Positions
Dedicated to celebrating creativity and innovation as expressed through
American popular music, this West coast non-profit museum is seeking
experienced candidates for the following positions:

1 - DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Individual must have ability to propose and develop innovative interpretive
programs and materials for museum exhibitions vis a vis contemporary popular
music and its relationship to contemporary culture. 

Qualifications: Experience must include five years developing and managing
educational programs for a museum or other cultural institution; a strong,
diverse background in contemporary museum education methods; development of
educational products for school and home markets. An advanced degree in
education or area related to museum’s content emphasis is required, as are
superb interpersonal and organizations skills.

Salary:  $60,000 to $70,000.

2 - CURATORIAL DIRECTOR
A leader is sought for the creation and management of all exhibits, to
oversee the collection development and management of curatorial programs and
to design a collection research program. 

Qualifications: The individual should have working knowledge of the
techniques of selection, evaluation, preservation, conservation and
exhibition of objects, as well as knowledge of the current market and
current customs regulations in the specialized area.
An advanced degree or related experience in arts management or musicology is
required plus three years management experience in a museum; also, evidence
of scholarly research and writing.

Salary: $70,000 to $75,000.


3 - EXHIBIT PRODUCTION MANAGER
Position involves management of the design process, fabrication and
installation of all exhibits.  

Qualifications: A thorough knowledge of exhibit construction methods and
documentation is needed as is experience with artifact conservation.  A
Bachelor’s Degree in an arts related field and five years experience in
managing exhibition installations is required.

Salary: $40,000 to $45,000.

4 - PROJECT MANAGER-INTERIOR/CONSTRUCTION
Architect needed to coordinate all architectural issues relating to the
exhibition design and installation at the museum. 

Qualifications: A thorough understanding of all phases and requirements of
architectural construction and especially interior construction is needed.
A degree in architecture plus at least three years of interior project
construction management is required.

Salary: $35,00 to $40,000.

5 - SOUND LAB/PROJECT MANAGER 
Project Manager oversees all exhibit, technical and construction related
components of gallery, coordinates the content deliveries needed for text,
artifacts and images as well as the logistics of development, testing and
installation.

Qualifications: Degree in Industrial Design, Museum Studies or related
field, plus four to six years experience in interactive exhibition
management.  Excellent communication skills needed.

Salary: $70,000 to  $80,000.


6 - SOUND LAB/EDUCATION ASSOCIATE
This person functions as the in-house resource for the educational
components of all Sound Lab exhibits, which illustrate relationships between
music, science and technology, and provide interactive opportunities.

Qualifications: A demonstrated understanding of all aspects of music
education is needed, plus the ability to develop innovative methods of
involving visitors in the creative processes in making music.  A degree in
Music Education plus four to six years experience in exhibition development
for a wide age range is required, as is specific experience developing
evaluation and testing.

Salary: $50,000

7 - SOUND LAB/TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE
The Associate functions as the in-house resource for the technological
component interface and of all Sound Lab exhibits, which illustrate
relationships between music, science and technology, and provide interactive
opportunities.

Qualifications: A thorough understanding of all aspects of contemporary
popular music technology is needed and the ability to create technological
methods that promote the interactive elements in the gallery.

Salary: $50,000.
