Well of course you do.  Have you ever seen a subatomic particle on your own?
Can you explain the intricacies of the Big Bang theory (quick, no peeking)?


For the most part you experience science through textbooks, websites, the
news, what other people tell you, not your own firsthand experience.  So
you're going on faith aren't you?  Many anthropologists consider modern
science to be nothing more than a new religion.  The belief that there is
not a god is just as faith-based as the belief that there is.  But you'd
have to take a wider view and get beyond your own beliefs as indisputable
"Truth" in order to see that.  I'm surprised that more people don't
recognize that our secular society indoctrinates just as ferociously as any
religion!  I guess it's just hard to see when you're the one being
indoctrinated.
