Now this is nostalgia!  This position was my very first museum job 13
years ago.  The Fort is great and the island is a wonderful place to
spend the summer--especially if you are college-age.  I wonder if my

Mackinac State Historic Parks, Michigan

We are recruiting for a seasonal Collections Assistant position.  The
position information is listed below:

Length:  12 weeks (June 1998 - August 1998)

Hours:  40 hours per week (generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Monday through
Friday.  The hours may vary and may include occasional weekend and
evening work.

Pay Rate:  $6.50 per hour

Location:  Mackinac Island (with occasional duties in Mackinaw City)

Duties:  Duties include inventorying, cataloging and other general
registraral work.

Requirements:  The position requires the applicant be currently enrolled
in a graduate-level museum, history, or related program.

 This position is not currently listed as an internship;  however, the
Curator of Collections is willing to consider filling the position as a
paid internship.

Housing:  Dormitory-style housing with kitchens may be available at a
cost of approximately $106.00 per month.
