Nick,

I am interested in how archaeology, museums, and the heritage industry have
been used to promote or even invent national identity in Scotland.  So I
wrote to museum-l to see if anyone had any references in the museum studies
literature about museums and their role in promoting national identity.  I
would be happy to talk with you about it (but I'm inundated at the moment).
 You wouldn't believe how little time we have been given to do a rather
monumental 20-25 page paper.
