The Museum at Southwestern Michigan College (www.smc.cc.mi.us/museum)
has an opening for a 25 hours/week collections intern in the summer of
2002. He/she will assist the curator with cataloguing donations,
installing exhibits, research, scanning images into computer database
and updating records. The intern will also assist museum staff with
tours and other duties as needed. Candidate should be able to work
independently and in a team environment. Job qualifications include: an
undergraduate upperclassman or graduate student majoring in history
and/or museum studies; basic knowledge of museum practices; interest in
future museum profession; record of responsibility in job history. This
paid internship will run for 8 weeks, June through August; specific
schedule can be determined after hiring.
