and doesn't latex tarnish silver rapidly?

I'd like to promote nitrile over latex, as many people have allergies to
latex.

There are obviously those conservation tasks that require the dexterity of
no gloves, but for ordinary handling, gloves protect not only the object
from the handler, but the handler from the object.

And for those people who feel they have an inherent privlege to handle
objects bare-handedly, usually the health and safety issues make them think
twice (oh, you mean they treated the collections with arsenic in the past to
deter pest infestation???) Depends on your collection, but don't risk your
health.

Have you thought about latex gloves? Many museums are switching to
these for better grip.

About this glove thing.
What is the thinking on this now? A while back some people where saying
that freshly washed hands over a short period of time
was acceptable. I have never liked handling glazed ceramics with gloves.

And many objects snag so easily. I'm aware of the
problems with bronze, copper and brass so I glove up when I handle them.

Other than that I do a good hand washing and go
at it.
So how much trouble am I in?
