You might want to look at the Millennium Volunteers programme: email

programme (indeed, most of the people I've talked to seem a little
incredulous that anyone under 60 would want to volunteer in a museum),
but it does have a structure and philosophy which you might find
interesting.
Is any other museum or group of museums in the UK thinking of bidding
for this programme - could we share experiences?
