The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) and ArtsConnectEd, an online
partnership between the MIA and Walker Art Center are pleased to
announce the launch of two new educational, interactive web sites.
Please visit, review, and critique - any feedback about any aspect of
these two new sites would be welcome:

Get More From Your Visit (http://www.artsmia.org/get-more) is an
online
resource designed especially for those planning a visit to The
Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Parents, teachers and adults will find
printable activities, behind the scenes insights, advice for engaging
kids in looking and much more for getting more out of a visit to the
museum. The information is custom designed for the user, based on a
profile the user enters at the beginning of the site. Each section is
organized for different age groups and different visitors, making Get
More from Your Visit a one-of-a-kind experience, just like a visit to
the Institute.

There is no equivalent in the many Native American languages for the
word art. No distinction is made between what is beautiful or
functional, and what is sacred or secular. Yet Native Americans are a
highly spiritual people who create objects of extraordinary beauty.
Explore dozens of works of art in The Minneapolis Institute of Art's
collection at Surrounded by Beauty, a site designed to put these works
of art in context for teachers and students.
