A second thought I had...

Although the staff does not officially serve on the Board, we do have
significant input into organizational policy through the Board's standing
committees.  Each standing committee has a staff liaison who is a voting
member on and facilitates their meetings--i.e. the Business Manager is the
staff liaison for the Finance Standing Committee, the Associate Director for
Programs is the liaison for the Program Standing Committee, etc.--and since
most of the Board's work is done through these committees, the structure
offers staff the opportunity to really have a voice on the highest levels.
