Military history is a very practical business. To be useful in a museum, in the
MILHIST area, yer needs,as they used to say, ter getcha knees brown! By
learning the practical skills and the best way to do this is as a
volunteer/intern getting your hands dirty and your being immersed in the
subject matter. Having a military background helps to give you the mindset.
