Thank you David Harvey for your comments.
If I may add my two cents on this thread......I pose this
riddle......Imagine Clio possessing a three legged milking stool,
presumably to milk "history". If one leg represents collecting, the other
preserving, and the third and final leg of the stool represents
interpreting, which "leg" should be the longest?  (Note: a milking stool
should have one leg longer than the other two, allowing the milker to lean-
in toward the cow.)
