I've heard from a number of people that 1) they can't read the attachment or 2) I seem to have left in an erroneous starting date.  So with my apologies to one and all here is the job announcement:

Curator of Collections

Oregon Historical Society is seeking a curator for a F/T position to build, preserve, research, document and interpret artifacts of Western history.  OHS collections consists of historical artifacts related to Oregon and the Pacific Northwest from pre-history to contemporary including, ethnographic, tools and equipment, costume, textiles, art and furniture.  Qualifications: working knowledge of professional standards relating to conservation, care, handling, and storage of artifacts, collections management (including computer-based systematics), appraisal and statues and regulations governing museum practices.  Demonstrated high level of research skills and proven ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals.  Requirements: M.A. in History, Museum Studies or related field.  Academic specialization or interest in Pacific Northwest history is preferred.  Background in conservation and computer skills necessary (Argus, WordPerfect, Excel, A!
ccess preferred).  Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in a museum environment, with at least two in a curatorial capacity.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Beginning salary $33,000, excellent benefits.
