Greetings :>

I need some assistance from my US colleagues. I am revising the Alberta
Museums Association Standard Practices Handbook (1990) for publication in 1996.
Since the first edition was popular in the US, we want to balance the revised
edition's content to also reflect the US context.

For example, in a section entitled "Laws and Regulations Related to Collecting"
the first edition listed Alberta and Canadian Legislation (such as the Cultural
Property Export and Import Act, the Historic Sites and Monuments Act, and the
Migratory Bird Convention Act) and then jumped to the International
Conventions.

I would like to compile a similar list of US (national) statutes related to
collections and information management. If you can offer one or two (or
more!), I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks!
