During the Mesozoic Era rapid changes in the world's flora took place.
Many early plant groups, like the seed ferns, became extinct. The modern
plant world began when plants with flowers, the angiosperms, appeared
during the Early Cretaceous.

Other plants of the Mesozoic included pines, redwoods, cycads (palm-like
trees) and impressive giant tree ferns.
