Hello all:
This week's East Carolina University Fall field school post discusses artifact conservation. Graduate student Michelle Damian covers how the students are trained in conservation and how she is researching information on the artifacts. Her post includes before and after photos of items undergoing treatment under the direction of Dr. Brad Rodgers. Have a look at the two featured artifacts and see if you have any info to pass on. You can reach the journal here:

Click on "View the journal" and then on the link for “Week 8” on the bottom left navigation menu.

Also new this week....

The Maritime Archaeological and Historical Society's Pamunkey River Civil War Project Part 2 is the latest addition to our “In The Field” section. The folks from MAHS share information and images about the numerous Civil War vessels they've located in the Pamunkey River in Virginia. To see that post visit:

Click on the "In The Field" then "The Pamunkey River Civil War Project Part 2"

We hope you enjoy the latest additions to the site. Working on an interesting project yourself? Share it with the world via the Internet. Consider posting with the MUA. We'd love to host projects from around the world. If you're interested contact us at [log in to unmask]

As always thanks for supporting the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. See you all at the CUA in January!

Best regards,
