Assistant for Administration

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an 
Assistant for Administration to report to the Web Group responsible the museum's web site, www.metmuseum.org.  The Assistant for Administration provides support to the Web Group's General Manager and other senior staff members.  Responsibilities include: scheduling all inter-departmental planning meetings, writing and distributing minutes and agendas; compiling monthly web reports; receiving and responding to telephone calls, letters, memos and other correspondence; receiving and responding to the site's various email accounts (web site and newsletter accounts); maintaining office files and the office calendar (for personnel files, vendor contract, etc); inputting and updating site content including the online calendar and splash page; completing and reconciling invoices (invoices, RFPs, purchase orders, etc.) and allocations, and other related duties.

Successful candidates will possess 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.  Must have the ability to set priorities and multi-task and possess tact and good judgment in confidential situations.  Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent telephone etiquette.  BA degree in a related field required and a background in Art History preferred.  Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
