Try contacting the Society for Creative Anachronism or do some web surfing
for costuming sources utilized by "Rennies" - Renaissance Fair folk. Some
of these people are very serious about authenticity, to the point of
fanaticism, while some don't see beyond the velvet tights and the tight
bodice. You might just get some useful information.
