System Support Analyst

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a System Support Analyst for the Information Systems & Technology Department.    This person is a member of Merchandising System Support team with specific responsibilities for the support of the Warehouse Management System.  This analyst will work with user community to resolve day-to-day functional issues, proactively identify and resolve production impacting issues, evaluate file processing errors, and diagnose database and application issues.  Primary responsibilities include: designing, developing, and maintaining reports and downloads; reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs; assisting in the development of user requirements, participating in reviews; preparing procedures, instructions and documentation to assist users; working closely with Vendor HelpDesk to maintain and install various application upgrades and   fixes; coordinating patching and system upgrades with users, as required; understanding interactions between client server, security setup, configurations, desktop installs, external and internal interfaces, etc. in providing technical support; demonstrating and ensuring a strong user service commitment, and other related duties as required. 

Successful candidates will have 3 to 5 years experience in system maintenance and user support responsibilities.  Must have warehouse management systems technical support experience, (experience with Manhattan Assoc. a plus).  Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including inventory control and product distribution practices is required.  Must have demonstrated experience with MS SQL 2000, Crystal Reports, (version 10 preferred), Visual Source Safe, (or similar product).  Experience with MS Project an asset. B.S. degree in a related field is required.  Must have the availability to be on call via pager/cell phone.
