Rebecca,

Has anyone replied to your question, yet?

No particular book or article that is specifically focused on silk comes up
to my mind and I can't tell what you already know/don't know from your
question, but you may want to check the following books:

The Conservation of Artifacts Made from Plant Materials
Florian, M.L., Kronkright, D. Norton, R., J. Paul Getty Trust, 1990.

The Care and Preservation of Textiles
Finch, Karen, London, B.T. Batsford, 1985.
