In response to an inquiry about an exhibition of video art....The University of
Kentucky is currently hosting a small but very successful exhibition of work
by Korean born artist Nam June Paik. We had purchased a set of lithographs
featuring French Revolutionary figures from the Cincinnati art dealer, Carl
Solway. We have these works on display with two large robots from Paik's
robot sculpture "family" and a wall piece. Response has been very favorable,
especially from students. Even elementary students seem to instinctively
respond to this art. Visual arts majors in the Lexington magnet arts school
have created their own kinetic art and have turned it into an exhibition which
has been tremendously appealing. There are many resources available including
several good videos about Paik and video art. Good luck with your project!
