The Wing Luke Museum in Seattle has preserved the rooming house next door to 
the museum proper, used by Chinese immigrants when they first arrived in the 
U.S. back in the 19th century, with a store on the first floor.

Not exactly an old house museum, but as a restoration of a place people 
lived in exceptional circumstances during a fascinating time, with excellent 
interpreters (at least the one I went through with was), it's an incredible 
place.

I suspect it's got a lot in common with the tenement museum in New York that 
someone else mentioned.
