I agree with others on the List that it is a good idea to talk to a 
lawyer to secure you rights. However, there is a good chance that the 
museum is reacting out of ignorance or fear. There are organizations 
like Adaptive Environments http://www.adaptenv.org/ that work with 
institutions and individuals on the many inter-related issues 
affected by the ADA from workers rights through building design. It 
might be constructive to work with the museum on these issues if they 
are willing.
