The Museum of Mobile is seeking a Curator of Collections for a full-time
merit system position. The curator will develop a comprehensive
management plan for the museum, complete an inventory, and coordinate
the relocation of the collection to a new facility. The curator will
implement the collection policy and oversee the acquisition and
conservation of artifacts.

Requirements: Attainment of an undergraduate degree from a recognized
college or university in museum studies with a specialization in
collection management; Master's Degree strongly preferred; and a minimum
of three years experience working as a collections manager (or a
combination of education and experience equivalent to these
requirements). Must have good computer skills, be able to train, manage,
and supervise, have working knowledge of artifacts, research sources,
accession and file systems, packing and handling methods, security
systems, conservation policies, and standard museum nomenclature. Grant
writing experience a plus.
