I've watched with interest during the past few years as much of the museum
education literature has used the language "museum learning" rather than
"museum education." I appreciate the nuances of this distinction, and
wonder if it has had any impact on the names of our departments. For
example, how many "Department(s) of Museum Learning" are out there, and have
there been any instances of this name replacing the traditional "Department
of Museum Education?" If so, is this phenomenon more prevalent in certain
types of museums; say, science or history or children's museums? Thanks in
advance for any insights or examples.
