Curatorial Administrator for Private Collection
Seeking enthusiastic person responsible for care of private “Old West” collection located in my Bryn Mawr home. Duties include, but not limited to: Conducting research; Processing new acquisitions (accessioning, condition reporting, numbering, digital photography, database entry); Exhibit design / preparation / installation / maintenance; Schedule / supervise / track various projects and conservation work done on objects – both onsite and out-of-house; Organizing all aspects of shipping arrangements; Searching for and purchasing new acquisitions for collection; Placing bids at auction (absentee, online and e-Bay); etc.
This is for a full-time position. Must have own transportation. Knowledge of museum standards and procedures helpful. Must be computer literate with the following: FileMaker Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Windows XP (Office) programs and digital photography. Overall, technology skills very important.
Successful candidate should be enthusiastic, organized, hard working, discreet, a quick learner and have excellent communication skills. Candidate should have an interest in learning the history of the era.
