ASSISTANT MUSEUM EDUCATOR


The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an
Assistant Museum Educator for its Education Department.  The Assistant
Museum Educator plans, facilitates, and implements the Museum's Offsite
Programs for Schools and Teachers, oversees the distribution of teacher
resource materials, and coordinates in-school staff development sessions
based on these materials.  This Educator coordinates the Museum's Met Goes
to School program, which offers the opportunity for a Museum professional to
work with students directly in the classroom.  The ideal candidate must have
3 to 5 years experience in Museum Education or a related field, and teaching
experience with students in grades K through 12.  A Master's Degree in Art
History, Studio Art, Museum or Arts Education is required.  Knowledge of
current trends in museum and arts education, and excellent communication and

ASSOCIATE MUSEUM EDUCATOR


The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an
Associate Museum Educator for its Education Department.  The Associate
Museum Educator plans, facilitates, and implements the Museum's School
Programs for grades K through 12. This position has direct oversight
responsibility for the Museum's school tours and offsite programs, including
coordinating training for nearly two hundred school tour volunteers.    In
addition, this Educator plans and implements a master schedule of program
offerings, oversees the school tour reservation line, and participates in
all aspects of the Museum's educational work.  The ideal candidate must have
a minimum of 5 years experience in Museum Education or a related field, and
teaching experience with students in grades K through 12.  A Master's Degree
in Art History, Studio Art, Museum or Arts Education is required.  Knowledge
of current trends in Museum and Arts Education, including educational
developmental and curriculum levels, is preferred.  Experience and ability
in managing and motivating diverse staff is key to success in this position.
