Hear, hear! The useful response is one that says, "Here are some other
things it could be and here's how to test for them." Are we all that
fearful for our livelihood and our professions that we have to draw these
lines...if you're not a conservator, don't try to clean anything; if you're
not a curator, stick to registering objects, etc?

Let's try to be a little more understanding and helpful here, folks.
