Anne Lane wrote asking for basic texts on basketry.
Two of the best that I have found on this topic are "Who is Afraid of
Basketry?" by Wilhelmina Wendrich published by the Centre for
Non-Western Studies, Leiden University, The Netherlands
and "The Classification of Textile Techniques" by Anne-Marie Seiler
Baldinger. There are a number of different editions of this put out by
several different publishers.
