ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR

Our client, a prestigious Asian art gallery, seeks an intelligent and
responsible individual to fill the position of Assistant to the Director.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

        Assisting the Director with maintaining daily gallery operations
        Scanning and digitally photographing artwork
        Updating and maintaining inventory and archive
        Upkeep of image and client files
        Assisting with gallery exhibitions and art fairs
        Acting as a registrar with the handling and documentation of art objects
        Answering phones and greeting clients
        General office work and administrative support

A minimum of one-year experience working in a fine art gallery, a B.A. in
Art History, experience handling fine art objects, and a solid working
knowledge of the art world is required. The ideal candidate will possess
exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), strong research
capabilities, the ability to work well independently, and computer
proficiency, including Macs & PCs, MS Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop,
scanners, and digital cameras. Strong organizational and planning skills,
ability to juggle numerous projects simultaneously, and attention to detail
are a must. Experience with exhibitions, art fairs, and registrar work
preferred. This is a full-time position, with occasional weekend and evening
hours. Salary is commensurate with experience.
