Bowdoin College seeks applicants for the 2002/2003 Andrew W. Mellon
Curatorial Intern at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. The 18-month
position begins July 1, 2002 and continues through December 31, 2003.

responsible for curatorial work assigned by the Museum, such as object
research and scholarly correspondence. The Intern reports to the
Director of the Museum of Art and works with the museum staff to learn
about museum procedures including handling works of art, ethics,
professional practices, security, art conservation, curatorial
practices, etc.

Candidates should hold a recent B.A. degree with a major or strong minor
in art history, an excellent academic record, and an interest in museum
work and in pursuing graduate work in an art museum related field.

reference letters to: Director, Bowdoin College Museum of Art, 9400
