Hello--I am hoping that the textile experts out there can help me with the
question of storing a large altar cloth. It is made of silk damask and velvet
and trimmed with a metallic fringe; there is also a large (18" x 18") applique
in the center of the front side.

This cloth is used during the academic year and the chaplain wants to store it
during the summer months, so I will need to fold and pad it in such a way that
it can go back on the altar with no wrinkles in the fall.

My questions are: what supplies should I buy, and how much of them for a cloth
that is 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, and hangs down 3 feet on all sides? I assume
I need loads of acid-free tissue, but I haven't found an archival box (really,
I think I need a trunk) large enough to hold it. Any suggested sources and
advice would be greatly appreciated.
