read 'A meditation on small and large museums' in Stephen Weil's Rethinking
the museum (Smithsonian Institution Press, Washington 1990). This text was
originally delivered as a key note speech in 1987 (and subsequently printed
in Museum Studies Journal 3, 1988, 2), but still relevant.
