The National Postal Museum of Smithsonian Institution moved its
collection of over 16 million philatelic and postal history objects to
its new facilities in 1992 and the new museum was opened to public in
July 1993. We used a simple database to keep track of objects during the
relocation process and it went relatively smoothly. I will be happy to
share thoughts on any particular aspects of the project.
