We have the following two positions open and would welcome applications.

_Educator/Curator, American Experience_: The Children's Museum of
Indianapolis, the world's largest youth museum, is currently seeking
qualified candidates for the position of Educator/Curator of American
Experience, which will report directly to the Executive Vice President
of the museum. Responsibilities of this position will include curating
and shaping the museum's American Experience Collection, working closely
with museum staff to maximize collections usage and assure care, safety
and documentation of artifacts, and seeking and securing donations and
acquisitions. Requirements include an advanced degree and 5-10 years
experience in American Studies, with an emphasis on popular culture,
material culture, public history, oral history, or a related field. The
major emphasis of this position will be on 20th Century American Culture
and will require a broad understanding of both U.S. history and popular
culture. Other desired qualifications include demonstrated experience in
exhibition and program development for general public audiences;
understanding of collections management functions, conservation and
museum standards; strong communication and teamwork skills. Qualified

_Associate Curator, Cultural World Collections_:  The Children's Museum
of Indianapolis is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the
position of Associate Curator of Cultural World Collections.
Responsibilities for this position include curating the Caplan
Collection, a cross-cultural assemblage of more than 50,000 artifacts,
corresponding with and cultivating donors, cataloging and upgrading
artifact information in the collections database, assisting in
developing programs which involve Cultural World artifacts. Masters
Degree in Anthropology, Folk Studies, Museum Studies, or a related field
preferrable, with a specialization in the study of international folk
art. Other requirements include a minimum of two years experience in
artifact collections, including experience in artifact handling and
computer cataloging. Qualified candidates should submit a resume, cover
