Dear List Members:

I am in the process of searching for a job in one region of the US while living in another. My gut tells me that my current location is a serious disadvantage because museums (generally) don't have the funding to pay for interview expenses and will therefore be forced to disregard long distance candidates. On the other hand, I've heard people say that its not usually a problem and that museums -- if seriously interested in a candidate -- will pay for the candidate's interview expenses.

I'm hoping that some of you will be willing to give advice or share experiences about long distance job searches.

Thanks,
Joy
