I would also go to the web sites for some of the MLS programs and check for online syllabi. These should give you a pretty comprehensive reading list. I know Catholic University offers a course in Art and Museum Librarianship, though the syllabus is not currently available. I'd try
University of Pittsburgh, University of Texas at Austin, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and University of Maryland's programs.
