Fred was one of the keynote speakers at the Museums Australia 1996 National
conference ; Power & empowerment- preparing for the new millenium. His
speech which he performed an a classic American extemporaneous special (off
the cuff and not read as we do) was one of the highlights of the conference
along with Elaine's Gurian's traditionally read speech.

He spoke of his earlier work in NYC, then Baltimore and lastly of his work
oat the Seattle Museum of Art. His new project (just completed in San
Francisco and some time in the future in LA) targets the historic house
tradition. Catch him if you can. his work is brilliant and he is one of the
nicest people you could meet.
