I work in a historic home that also has art collections in galleries, and
we're reconsidering the various titles we give our education staff. Right
now we have one full-time museum educator, two part time assistants, paid
college interns who help with classes and tours, and a volunteer docent
core.

Some of us like the term Interpreter better than Docent or Guide. I
associate the title Interpreter with historic sites, parks, etc., but not
so much with art museums. We interpret both our historic house and the art
collections inside. What is the current trend with this title?

Would this make sense:

Education Coordinator (full time)
Senior Interpreter (half time, some training responsibilities)
Interpreter (completes formal training, paid)
Volunteer Guide (little formal training, unpaid)
