Temporary Museum Technician Position

CREHST Museum, Richland WA (Columbia River Exhibition of History, 
Science and Technology)
40 hours per week
Duration: mid-December to mid-March to cover for maternity leave
Position Objective: Assist with registration and storage.
Principal Responsibilities: Perform computer data entry and paper 
documentation of collections (cataloging and accessioning), labeling, 
and photographing; assist with construction of individual object 
supports and storage containers; assist with collection inventory.
Other Responsibilities: Assist with the following activities: 
integrated pest management (including environmental monitoring and 
facility inspections), incoming and outgoing loans, exhibit and 
storage cleaning, exhibit installation and take-down, and walkthrough 
surveys of DOE-owned facilities. Attend job-related meetings (staff, 
volunteer, or contract meetings) at the direction of the curator.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree in a social science field 
(completed or near completion), minimum of 1 year experience in 
museum or cultural resources work.  Proficiency in computer software 
applications, strong oral and written communication skills.  Must be 
able to wear respirator and be badged by U.S. Department of Energy 
for work on the Hanford Site (be a United States citizen).  Knowledge 
of museum acquisition process and documentation.
