First question: What are CV's?

My $.02 regarding job ads on Museum-L: Perhaps posting job ads on the
list is or is not appropriate. And maybe those jobs are only posted
because the hiring institution must advertise if it is to remain being an
EOE, when in fact someone is already in line for the job. But IMHO, I
think they should be posted on this list. While they may take up space
in our email accounts and we have to expend the energy to delete them, I
think they are worthy of posting. If these job postings have any value,
it may only be to show that there are jobs out there and to give those of
us who are looking for jobs a little bit of hope.
I'm just a grad student, I still have an internship to start, and I'm not
currently looking for a job, but these postings give me a little hope.
Not to mention the fact that they are ammunition for when I have to argue
with my mom over the fact that I want to work in a museum rather than
being the heart surgeon I long ago aspired to be. I can print these
posting out and give her hard proof that jobs in the museum world DO exist.
Thanks for listening.
