This isn't a museum-related topic per se, but I thought I may be able to get
some useful advice from y'all out there.

I will be moving from S.F. to N.Y. in August to attend grad school at NYU
(I'm leaving the art world for social work, a.k.a. going from one low-paying
profession to another!).
I'm looking for a studio for $1000/mo (don't laugh) in the following areas:
East/West/Greenwich Villages, lower East/West sides, TriBeCa, SoHo, even
Brooklyn.

I'm currently perusing the Village Voice, the web and other resources (i.e.
NYU housing offices). For now, I'd like to avoid using a broker, but may
break down if necessary. I'll be going to N.Y. June 28 - July 3 to look for
a place. Am I on the right track? Does anyone have any useful suggestions?
Et cetera. Also, if you happen to _hear_ of anything, please please let me
know ... I'd be eternally grateful. I can be reached at the following
numbers/addresses:

W: (415) 543-2090 x210
H: (415) 922-9583

Thanks much!
