I don't know if anyone caught a recent episode of "Hey Monie!" a cable
television animated show about a young black PR professional. Her firm gets
a contract to work with a musuem to make it more "hip." It is hilarious.
This is a great thread. Karin Stanford, Museum of Florida History

This thread has shaken loose memories of a session at an AAM meeting (in
Atlanta, I think) regarding the way museum staff are depicted in the
media. We saw clips from several of the films and TV shows already
mentioned. One of the observations the speakers made was that museum
people are often portrayed either as being odd, socially inept people who
like to hang out in dank basement storage rooms OR as targets for murderers
(particularly the museum guards and the odd, socially inept people in the
basement).

It was definitely one of the most entertaining AAM sessions I've attended!
