offering a six-day immersion course on cultural tourism for museum and
heritage professionals in late April. Please let us know if you'd like to receive

CULTURAL TOURISM
Cultural and heritage resources help to define communities and make them
special. They can also attract tourists and spur economic development. This

- international and local trends, issues, and policy directions
- interpreting cultural landscapes
- building community support
- marketing approaches and 'product' development
- planning, management, and evaluation strategies
- First Nations issues in development, marketing, and partnerships
- ethical issues relating to sustainability and authenticity
Instructor: Brian White is Strategic Advisor to the World Travel and Tourism
Human Resource Centre, and the Coordinator of the Tourism Program at
Capilano College in Vancouver, British Columbia
