Pat,

By coincidence, the Los Angeles Times is running a series of articles
on Art Museums. Today's article, by art critic Christopher Knight,
explores the subject of fee vs free admission to museums. The
articles goes into the very concept of non profit art museums and the
trend towards blockbuster exhibitions (big fees). While it covers
both sides of the fee subject, by featuring the Minneapolis Institute
of Art that just eliminated its admission fees, the slant is in that
direction.
The series is well worth reading.
