I'm working with a local museum, Acadiana Center for the Arts, to implement green technology in the facilities. I have read about the pro's and con's of different kinds of lighting, but I remain confused about the subject.

I know that CFL's emit UV, but I hear there are UV filters available. However, CFL's generate a lot of heat. LED's are expensive up-front, but they are much more efficient than CFL's, they don't generate much heat, last a long time, don't contain mercury, but they aren't as bright. What about fiber optics? How do they compare in cost and energy savings?

If anyone has experience with using CFL's, LED's, fiber optics, etc., opinions would be greatly appreciated.
