Uninvited Guests: Integrated, Preventive Pest Management Workshop for
Museums, Historic Properties, Libraries and Archives

Saturday, March 31 and Saturday, April 21, 2012
9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum
680 Radcliffe Street, Bristol, PA 19007

Instructor: Thomas A. Parker, PhD - Entomologist and President of Pest
Control Services, Inc.

Cost: $60.00 (includes individual membership in the Tri-State
Coalition of Historic Places)

It’s spring, and squadrons of pests are waking up and planning to dine
on your collections and your building. This workshop will teach you
how to locate, identify, and control these "uninvited guests."

In the first session (March 31), Dr. Tom Parker (the famous Bug Man
who has helped scores of museums) will provide an up-close and
personal introduction to your enemies. You will receive an assignment
that will guide you in developing a manageable, inexpensive
pest-control strategy. In the second session (April 21) Dr. Parker and
your fellow classmates will comment on your work and help you improve
your efforts. Each participant will receive a notebook of articles and
some other goodies that will help you in your quest to identify and be
rid of your local cadre of pests.

Bring your lunch on both days; morning coffee and lunchtime cold
drinks will be provided.

This workshop is brought to you by Sustaining Places, a partnership of
Museum Studies at the University of Delaware and the Tri-State
Coalition for Historic Places, with funding from the Institute for
Museum & Library Services. For more information, email
