There are a variety of archival and records management products out
there. PastPerfect, for example, is used by some smaller archives and
museum archives. CuadraSTAR also has a module for archival materials.

There are also some open source systems, like Archon
(http://www.archon.org/) and Archivists Toolkit
(http://www.archiviststoolkit.org/) that are used in larger archives
and for management of digitized objects.

I'd suggest perhaps going to a regional archivists meeting (the
Society of Southwest Archivists, for example, meets next week in
Houston) to see what some of the options are. The Society of American
Archivists maintains a list of regional interest groups at
